This is the King James Version of the Bible, produced by a committee of scholars in 1611. The KJV was one of the first officially sanctioned Bible translations in any language; considering that William Tyndale was executed in 1536 for translating the Bible into English, this was a big step forward. Reading the KJV can sometimes take a bit of effort, due to the Elizabethan phrasing. However, this translation is considered one of the masterpieces of English literature, and deserves a reading whatever ones' religious beliefs.
